Each winter, thousands of North Atlantic humpbacks return to Samaná Bay to breed and calve — one of the great gatherings on the planet. We head out with a licensed captain to meet them, close enough to hear the blows — then land on Cayo Levantado for beach time on one of the bay's prettiest islands.
